Yowell is celebrating Virginia Farm to School Week! During Virginia Farm to School Week, Virginians make some noise for local farm to school programs. Today we participated in the seventeenth annual “Crunch Heard ‘Round the Commonwealth.” The statewide campaign features Virginians taking a bite out of a Virginia-grown apple and sharing their celebrations. Virginia farm to school programs connect students with locally grown food in cafeterias, preschools, and summer feeding programs while enhancing educational opportunities in school gardens, student farms and land labs, classrooms, and cafeterias. #VACrunch #VAFarmtoSchool

We suggest you write your child's name on as many items as you can (lunchboxes, jackets, water bottles, etc). Thank you so much .

Friends from Mrs. Bopp's reading class worked through the steps of the scientific method to figure out what items were attracted to magnets. They worked through the question, hypothesis, test and the conclusion. They even wore their safety googles! Then they had a little fun with magnets and math at the end of the lesson.
