Last Friday, Mrs. Silver's class took their Specially Brewed Coffee cart business on the road and traveled to CTEC to serve coffee, bagels, and most of all smiles to the CTEC staff. After all of their hard work, Mr. Summerscales led them on a tour of the building where they were able to try out stethoscopes, check out the inside of a mock ambulance and marvel at all the hard work happening in the automotive class. Thank you CTEC for welcoming us into your building. Our students had an amazing time!

Our Pre-K students are currently in the middle of their Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle Study. After learning about what litter is, and why is can be harmful to the Earth, Mrs. Frack’s class went on a litter walk around the school to try and help clean up the Earth. They were so excited to be helpers with experience, and they learned that even though they are little kids, they can help make a big difference in our world!

If you’ve had a fifth grader at Yowell before, you know how much we enjoy honoring our outgoing fifth graders and celebrating all of their accomplishments. Each year we do this by creating a slideshow that includes one baby or toddler picture of each fifth grader. We would love your help in getting this project started. Please send in a baby/ toddler picture of your child for this presentation by April 19th. Any pictures received after this date may not be included in the slideshow. There are two ways that you can share your child’s baby picture. (Preferred Method) Email the picture to Mrs. Dugger, our school ITRT, at kdugger@ccpsweb.org. Please include your child's name and their teacher’s name in the email and use “5th grade baby picture” as the subject. You can use your smartphone to snap a picture of a picture. No need to get fancy. You can send in the actual baby picture so it can be scanned. Please label the back with your child’s name and their teacher’s name. These will be returned to your child as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Dugger at kdugger@ccpsweb.org.
