Congratulations to all FTBMS 7th and 8th grade band students who participated in Solo & Ensemble this past weekend! Students hard work and talent earned 7 Superior and 2 Excellent ratings-- well done! These outstanding performances complete the final requirement for the FTBMS Band Program to be recognized as a Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors' Association "Program of Honor"-- congratulations! This is the first year middle schools have been considered for this distinction, and we’re thrilled to be among the first to be eligible to receive it. In addition to this weekend’s Solo & Ensemble results, the band program qualified for this honor by having 12 students selected for All-District Band in December, along with the 7th & 8th Grade Concert Band having earned a Superior Rating at Concert Assessment in March.
